Seamus McCabe

In 2003, following the tragic death of his son Seamás McCabe, who ended his life by suicide at the age of 20, Seamus founded the organisation PIPS Newry and Mourne. This was the first organisation of its kind in the area and offers the community a targeted response to suicide and self-harm and is the leading suicide prevention charity in the Southern Trust Area.

Seamus now the CEO works tirelessly with his team of 6 staff members and over 20 volunteers to ensure that the services of PIPS Newry and Mourne remain accessible to everyone in our community. The organisation provides prevention training, intervention services in the form of counselling & befriending and also post-vention support to those who have lost a loved one to suicide.
