James McCann
Upon starting 1st year in St Joseph's Boys’ High School, Newry, I immediately began to notice that the majority of my new friends were drinking Energy Drinks. When peer pressure kicked in, I began drinking them myself. Over the next few years my addiction grew and had become so horrendous that at one point I was drinking at least four energy drinks a day.
These drinks had a major impact on my health, to the point where I had to leave my course at the Southern Regional College in 2007, due to being hospitalised as a result of these dinks.
However, thankfully I have since recovered and I now visit schools all across Northern Ireland to share my story and create an awareness of the damage that these drinks can cause to your health.
I have since worked with established names such as The BBC, The Belfast Telegraph and The Irish News to share my 'Energy Drinks Awareness Campaign.
